Part-time Business Development Associate

Betasab Global Family Initiative is a non-profit based in the USA and operating in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Global Family Initiative is hiring a Part-Time Business Development Associate to take over stewardship of existing donors, develop grants, and expand its fundraising base. 

This position will entail 15 - 20 hours per week with an initial 6-month appointment, with the possibility of extension. Successful candidates will enjoy developing relationships, fundraising, and establishing sustainable support for an exciting and compelling project serving children and women. 

Business development manager responsibilities and expectations:

  • Develop a fundraising strategy, including events, social media appeals, grant-seeking, and in-kind donations

  • Contacting potential donors to establish rapport and arrange meetings

  • Assist with marketing initiatives

  • Researching organizations and individuals to find new opportunities

  • Increasing the investment, financial and emotional of current donors while attracting new ones

  • Developing goals for the Board and Staff for business growth and ensuring they are met

  • Training personnel and helping team members develop their skills

Business Development Manager Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, non-profit management, or related field

  • A track record of successful fundraising, marketing and/or sales, preferably in a non-profit organization

  • Strong communication skills and IT fluency, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint, and Google Drive

  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty.
